Benefits Offered by Digital Security Systems
There are many reasons why a digital outdoor security camera system is far superior to the traditional analog technology. Since most digital systems are also fully supportive of network security cameras, the integration of both the initial equipment and the expansion equipment are almost seamless especially compared to analog devices which rely on other cable systems. Within a network any device that can be connected to the network, either wired or wireless, can be installed almost that instant without altering the initial set up of the infrastructure.
When we talk about an outdoor security camera system, this includes everything from the cameras and related accessories like camera housing and attachment antennae’s, if any, all the way to the cables that connect the devices within the system down to the recording equipment and other stuff in the monitoring room. The great thing about a digital system is that there is minimal degradation of quality during the transfer and recording of the video footage. The only degradation actually comes from any conversion required to accommodate equipment that is not fully digital. This includes cameras that do not have digital image sensors which would then need to convert the image before sending it over the Ethernet cables.
The scalability is one of the most user friendly features of a network security system because it allows a camera to be added if there is the need without having to rewire the entire system. Unlike traditional analog systems where a single coaxial cable is needed to connect each camera to the monitoring room or recording device, a network camera system allows the camera to be put on the network and the resulting video image can be viewed by anyone with access to the network. This means that the entire system can be controlled remotely which makes it possible to outsource the maintenance and monitoring of your surveillance.
