The Canon SX20 is could very well be considered the best travel camera for 2010.

A full feature set such as a 20x zoom lens, 12.1 megapixels, Smart Auto Technology and the ability to record videos and share them as well in full high definition resolution are just a few of the many features that make the Canon SX20is stand out from the many choices for digital camera consumers in 2010.

The zoom lens is the first item on the agenda and Canon has really done a bang up job here by incorporating such a flexible zoom lens into such a small camera body. On the wide end of the spectrum we have a 28mm zoom ratio that while not considered super wide, is wide enough for most applications the every day shooter would need. And the 560mm telephoto setting, while not the fastest 500mm lens avialable is still quite the feat for a small portable compact digital camera,which in many ways could be considered a point and shoot digital camera.

The 12.1 megapixels is not the highest resolution camera to date, but 12.1 megapixels is more than enough to make poster quality prints up to 20×30 inches, if not bigger.

High definition recording at a full resolution of 720p comes standard on the Canon SX20is, and a stereo microphone included means the sound when recording video will match the high quality video that’s being made with this small and compact canon camera.

Using the Smart Auto Technology, I was able to concentrate what I needed to concentrate on, and that was the subject I was shooting. I set the Canon SX20is to the Smart Auto setting and the little canon took care of the camera settings such as ISO, aperture and shutter speed. I was able to shoot some great looking scenes with the Canon SX20is that needed little to no post production work afterwards.

The Canon SX20is a small compact digital camera that is equipped with a flexible zoom lens making it the perfect choice for when you need or want a one digital camera to carry and without the worry or hassle of extra lenses.
