Computers with Touch Recognition
Computers with touch recognition displays such as the popular Dell touch screen laptops offer a huge advantage over standard laptop computers. While that statement might sound a little obvious initially, it takes quite a bit of understanding to fully comprehend the value a touch screen adds to a regular computer user. The ability to input commands by making contact with key areas of the screen goes beyond what we can actually imagine. Just like how we have grown accustomed to moving objects with the mouse cursor, imagine the freedom of manipulating your virtual environment with your fingers instead.
The use of a touch screen laptop makes the computer that much more intuitive and interactive for the user. The common devices are convertible touch screen computers which mean that they can take the form of a traditional laptop and function as such. Then on the whim of the user, they can be converted into a touch screen laptop tablet and be operated completely through the screen.
This offers the user to treat this like a real tablet and write on it with a stylus as if it were a pen and paper. This improves the note taking especially for those who type slower than they write, or in the case of students, need more flexibility than typing into a word processor. The screen digitizes the lines drawn with the stylus so that in the middle of making hand written notes the user can also draw diagrams and other images that cannot usually be done with a keyboard and a normal word processor.
Of course such added features do require special software to recognize and digitize the touch screen input. This is becoming less of a problem if were even one to begin with. As the technology for touch recognition displays become better, more software vendors are working harder to produce the best in working with laptops that offer such touch sensitive hardware.
