Fotoshop Fantasy
There are those who would love to believe in the supernatural aspect of life. They want to hold onto the fantasy of real ghost videos that have been posted to the web. They are desperate to know what lies beyond the void of life and death, and there are those who are willing to provide for them with fotoshop.
That’s right. There are so many ways to manipulate film these days that it makes it difficult to determine a true ghost from a make believe one. With all of the extra ways to maneuver film, is it any wonder that the internet is being flooded with pictures of so called real ghosts?
For the devout believer, this may come as a complete shock or even an outrage, but for the skeptic it is no surprise. Fotoshop allows the user to create blurry images or add in a white area of unfocused fuzz. These areas are then referred to as ghosts.
In the case of real ghost video, fotoshop has also been known to pave the way for fakes. All that needs to be done is to create a “ghost” by using a white blur and adding it throughout the entire video. The video can be manipulated by having the white blur move around the screen occasionally. There are even instances of having the fuzzy image move in response to what is being said on tape. These so called real ghost videos create believers out of those who were once on shaky ground.
Of course, that’s not to say that there aren’t real ghost videos available on the internet. The trick is to weed through all of the videos and try to spot the fakes. This is a lot harder than it sounds as fotoshop has made some very convincing film releases.
