Treating panic attacks is no easy task, why lie. But it is not easy living with such a condition either, being in constant fear of the unknown and having your life taken over by terror feelings. What I know is that a person suffering from this condition and knows what it is can give almost anything to treat it especially if the condition has taken a very serious turn. If you are looking for the cure for anxiety and panic attacks, you have to know that there is no medical treatment that will get rid of this condition permanently. You have to do it yourself naturally and lifestyle change may be necessary in the process.

First, start by minimizing the frequency, intensity and the durations of the attacks by avoiding any substances that raise your blood pressure, add stress or generally stimulate your system including coffee, cigarettes, alcohol and illicit drugs. Begin relaxing more and avoid stressful situations and confrontations that may make you anxious, fearful or angry at all costs. Get to know the triggers of the attacks, the times that they are likely to occur and the feelings that precede the attacks in order to learn to identify and suppress the attacks. Other than these, make sure that you get enough rest especially at night by sleeping between 6 and 8 hours to refresh your mind and reduce the chances of attacks.

The process of treating panic attacks has never been simple but it is possible. If you feel that deep breathing, meditation, physical exercises and distraction techniques are not helping, perhaps the condition has graduated to a more serious stage and it is time to seek professional help. A doctor should be able to tell whether the problem is panic attacks or there are other underlying problems and recommend appropriate therapies or any other effective treatment.
