If you have an old ugly looking phone but are unable to purchase a new more attractive one, it can be a real drag.  As much as you would like a prettier phone, it seems there is nothing you can do.  Thankfully, due to the blossoming of a huge market in colorful pink cell phone accessories, times have changed!
