Commercial bar stools can be purchased from a variety of different sources.  If you live in a larger city, there is a good chance that there is a commercial furniture dealer in town.  Use commercial furniture dealers as they will have pre-selected durable furniture.

Avoid purchasing bar stools for commercial use from residential furniture dealers.  These chairs may cost less money however they will not stand up over time.  Commercial furniture will wear out much faster in comparison to your residential counterparts.  This is especially true if you are using them in a bar or crowded restaurant.

If you are looking for commercial bar stools you can also purchase them from an online retailer.  Be careful purchasing chairs if you are not familiar with the brand.  Many different bar stool companies will copy each other with regards to chair design.  The biggest differentiator will be from the actual physical construction of the bar stool.  If a bar stool is half the price of the next competitor there is a good reason why.  Most likely, the materials used in the lower cost bar stool are of a lower grade.

Manufacturing companies do not disclose certain specifications such as the thickness of steel for furniture.  This can make it extremely difficult when it comes to comparison shopping.  The main reason they do this is so that they have the option to substitute lower cost materials.  This typically occurs when raw material costs rise and manufacturers do not want to raise pricing.  Bar stool makers will protect their gross margins by using lower grade material.

There are many different choices and it can be extremely overwhelming to find adequate commercial furniture.  If you are at a loss and do not know where to begin, you should consider visiting some of the restaurants and bars in town.

Ask the owners how their experiences have been with regards to certain bar stool makers.  If you ask enough owners, more than likely you will start to hear and understand a general consensus.  Doing your homework and due diligence is extremely important, as you will be buying a large number of bar stools for your commercial environment.
