If you live in the eastern United States, there is a good chance that Verizon communications is your local phone company. Verizon came into existence about 15 years ago with the merger of Bell Atlantic an NYNEX telephone and is now the dominant provider in big cities like New York and Philadelphia. With such a large customer base, Verizon decided to roll out a brand new cable television service called Fios.
