Whether you want to enhance the look of your own yard or you’re in the business of landscaping to enhance the appearance of your clients’ yards, when it comes to mixing cement, there is the easy way, and there is the hard way. The hard way is where you basically mix the cement bag after cement bag by hand. If you just need some cement to fill up some cracks or gaps on your driveway then that’s fine. However, if you are going to need a larger amount of cement, say, more than 10 bags, then it will be a good idea to get yourself an electric cement mixer.

Cement mixers take out the grunt work that can often be back breaking. There are a couple of types of mixers that you can get such as the manual one, the electric one, and the gas powered ones. One benefit of having an electric mixer is that you won’t have to buy gas to power your mixer. Although you will be using up electricity, the amount of time you save will be well worth it.

Another reason why you would want an electric mixer is that it will make your job a lot more efficient. Since cement starts to dry the second you place it on the ground, you will need to make sure you finish pouring the cement for the particular segment of the ground. If you are mixing the cement by hand, that can cause some problems if you’re not too quick. If you don’t want to buy an electric cement mixer because you won’t be using it all that much, what you can do is rent it out from a hardware store for under $50 a day.

Cement mixers vary in cost depending how large the drum is, what type of mixer you’re getting, and where you get it from. To save money, you may want to consider getting a used one from either a hardware store or by searching online.
