What You Are Paying For With a Traffic Lawyer
If you get a speeding ticket, or a running a red light ticket, or a failure to yield ticket, you are facing two problems: first, you are facing the problem of the ticket itself – usually this means paying a fine; second, you are facing the problem of increased car insurance costs for getting the ticket. Both of these problems suck.
Some people, those who really want to have a chance to avoid both problems, hire a traffic attorney to help them out. I should know, I’m a Seattle traffic lawyer, and I get calls from people every day who need help with their speeding tickets. But when I talk to people, I feel like they miss exactly what they are getting with someone like myself.
For example, one of the questions I get most often is, “if you don’t beat my ticket, will you refund my money and/or pay the cost of the ticket?” No, I won’t. And any other self-respecting traffic lawyer won’t either. And here’s why. In reality, you aren’t paying for me to beat your ticket. No one can guarantee that. And the reason is simple – there are perfect tickets out there. Some tickets can’t be beaten.
So, what are you paying for when you hire a Seattle traffic lawyer? You are hiring an expert in traffic tickets to give you the best chance to beat your ticket. Essentially, you are hiring us for the same reason you hire any other attorney, or even a doctor. If you need a surgeon to do some work on you, you don’t ask for them to guarantee the surgery or they’ll give you your money back. That just can’t be done. What can be done is they can use all of their knowledge, experience, and expertise to do whatever they can for you.
The next time you hire someone to help you with your speeding ticket, remember what you are paying for. You’ll probably get to keep the ticket off of your driving record, but there are no guarantees. You can rest easy knowing that no matter what happens you’ll have had the best shot possible to beat your speeding ticket.
