If you’ve done some homework, you may already know that locally pawnshops aren’t always the best place to sell your gold items. They tend to loan money for your goods, which means they end up with a lot of stuff when their customers don’t return for their goods. And jewelry seems to be one of the biggest ticket items that pawnbrokers receive. So in order to really profit from their sales, they often offer a very low price for the precious metal.

And when you’re in doubt about a company, check with the Better Business Bureau first.
