Why an Ejector or Pumping System is Vital in a Basement Toilet Installation
Some people may find it difficult to install a toilet in the basement because it needs to pump waste and water upward. However, having one in the house not only increases its livability but also the property’s value.
It may be quite an effort to install a basement toilet because of some hurdles, such as pumping water upwards, but the rewards that you’ll reap are definitely worth it. In particular, up flush toilets is the ideal choice for basement bathroom installation. These toilets, however, may need ejector systems to help pump the water in order to reach the main sewer pipe of the house. Aside from its capability to pump water upwards, the location must also require less plumbing work. That is why it is advisable to have it located as near as the sewage line.
The incorporation of an ejector system is vital in a basement toilet installation since this will help to efficiently pump waste toward the sewers. Moreover, it also treats the waste materials as they are pumped into the house sewers and to the main sewerage system. Ejector basins are often dug before installation of the ejector toilet system. If there is no ejector, a small tank is usually placed a few feet away from where the toilet is located. The tank helps break down the waste on the way to a discharge pipe, while a pump removes the wastewater through the drain line. The nearer the sewage is, the less work is needed as there would be fewer twists and turns. This way, the waste can go directly to its intended destination.
Others can also opt to use a sewage pumping system. A sewage pumping system is a flat tank where the usual standard toilet is mounted. The sewage system can double as the mounting system that could be placed at floor level. Either of the two will connect to the water supply line and drain line.
Whichever is much easier to install or use, one just have to make sure that the water line is accessible or will not need much work to set up.
