Why does shopping online totally rule? Does it totally rule? I think it does, and here’s why. Think about your last major purchase. I’m not talking about the last cup of jo you bought from the local Starbucks, or Dunkin’ Donuts, or some other fast food joint, I’m talking about the last California King sized bed you bought, or that wrought iron chandelier you just had to have for your over-sized hallway space. That’s the stuff that internet shopping was designed to help out with.

The last major purchase I made was a pine dressing table for my girlfriend. For those of you who have no clue what I’m talking about, a dressing table is a convenient little desk-like setup where the women folk store all the makeup cosmetics, hair gear, and the usual knick-knacky stuff to help them look beautiful before they venture out into public.  I didn’t know specifically what they were either, until I was notified that it was time for her to purchase a new one, and that I would be providing half of the funds for the project.

Of course, when faced with a challenge and a potential learning opportunity, I turn to the internet, and more specifically I turn to the search engines to find out the latest trends and definitions that will inevitably point me in the right direction. One such search engine query turned up more results on dressing tables than I could possibly process during the course of a normal afternoon.

Next, we hopped in the car and went shopping for the table in question… NOT a chance! I showed her all her options, sat her in front of the computer and let her figure out the best choice for her sense of style and taste. I retired to the TV room, where I watched one of the world Cup Soccer matches (The Republic of North Korea was getting whipped by some powerhouse country I believe), and when I returned she had made her decision. We purchased her table without having to leave the house. That’s why shopping online totally rules!
